Quick update on me: cd10 and just waiting for my monitoring appt this week on cd 12 to check where follies/lining are at. We are doing ovidrel trigger + timed intercourse this month since we're trying to save some money. I just have my fingers crossed that there is at least one dominant follicle.....i need some good news this month!
TTC #1 Since January 2011 Dx: PCOS and Anovulatory April 2012 BFP! Beta 1 5/22 - 1,000+ Beta 2 5/24 - 3,009 1st u/s 6/5 - TWINS!!! A/S Reveals we are Team PURPLE!!! 12/27 - surprise BFP - due August 2014
Considering that he poured the ketchup in his glass of ice at dinner last night, I don't want his penis anywhere near me
Haha Kel! This made me LOL.
Update: I have not been posting much....lurking mostly. I am still kind of trying to come to grips with the whole IF thing.....In any case, had an RE appointment last week. RE identified a moderately polycystic ovary, but other than that, all tests have come back normal. RE wrote up a treatement plan for IUI w/Clomid. We are 100% OOP, so are just waiting for final estimate from RE, at which point we will go in and sign consent forms. We are hoping to be able to go ahead with IUI next cycle, but that will depend on cost.
QOTW: I read all 3 books....twice. I really liked them! I agree that the writing is not very good, but I am got hooked into the story. I am actually pretty pumped to see how they cast the movie.
** After 2 1/2 years of Unexplained IF, 2 failed medicated cycles, and 4 failed IUI's - our baby girl came to us through the miracle ofMini IVF! **
We're switching to a new RE. Should be doing a postcoital test any day now. Not sure that we will be able to do an IUI this cycle. We probably won't be able to do an IUI b/c of the test (not enough time to abstain) but my lining was really thin last week so it may be a waste of money this cycle anyway. We'll see what happens at my postcoital.
QOTW: I haven't read it. Heard a lot about it, not sure if I am going to read it or not.
We are not even trying on our own this month, b/c during my FW (right now) H is struggling with pain from his dental implant and loopiness from Lortab. Considering that he poured the ketchup in his glass of ice at dinner last night, I don't want his penis anywhere near me
I have not read 50 Shades of Gray. I probably won't b/c I hear the writing is horrendous. But never say never I guess.
That is freaking hilarious! Thanks for the laughs In all seriousness hope YH is feeling better soon
Triggered on Thursday so I am in my first official 2WW everrrrrrr. Yay! (I don't actually have that much hope in this cycle, only 1 18mm follie, but still...)
Haven't read the book, but I read all the other trash (Twilight, Hunger Games) so I will probably read this one, too. Hubby is taking me away this weekend to celebrate my bday, and I am considering getting it for the beach.

Hi Zookie and 3T!! We're starting back down the treatment road. We're going to be looking into Natural Cycle IVF- I still have lots of questions and we're not sure we'll use that option, but we're going to at least explore and educate ourselves.

We have one child, elementary school. Started TTC #2 in January 2011. Got a BFP in March 2011, had miscarriage in May, had D&C in June 2011. Trying since with no luck.
3) What is your diagnosis, if you have one?
Over 35, weigh too much, likely PCOS (although no formal diagnosis). SA was normal, my bloodwork came back in normal ranges as well. GYN/OB (fertility specialist) and RE in the practice are of the opinion that my weight is the cause of my current state, and Clomid coupled with lifestyle changes may work.
4) What treatments have you done?
I have been working with a nutritionist & trainer to get my weight down, and this is my first cycle on Clomid. Two large follicles on CD13, no trigger (just lots of sex).
QOTW: Who?s read ?50 Shades of Grey?? Did you like it? What is your take on the main characters? Would you / or are you reading the rest of the trilogy?Where do I even begin? I read the first book, at the encouragement of two different friends who loved the trilogy. I can't believe how bad it was. I can't believe it got published. I can't believe how much people love it. I can't believe they're making it into a film series. The writing is horrible. Stephanie Meyers is a horrible writer, and this stuff is even worse. In Entertainment Weekly the author admitted that this series was conceived as Twilight Fan Fiction. It figures. I find the characters to be miserable and annoying. Ana is one-dimensional, whiny, and weak. Christian is obssessive and stalkerish; I would not be flattered by his behavior. I have nothing against BDSM, but this to me reads like abuse, not consensual sexual activities. I also shudder to think about all the teenage girls reading books like this and Twilight, imagining that this is a normal interaction between two people in a relationship. I'm a big fan of erotica and have read quite a lot of it. This is possibly some of the worst I've ever read. /end rant
I ovulated for the first time since August! This is my first cycle on thyroid meds and I ovulated! Late, but it still counts. I am very happy about this. DH is on vitamins and maca. His MFI was borderline (count 18 mil, 2% morph 80% motility) so I'm hoping this is enough to help. Our trip to the RE for further testing is on hold, mostly money issues.
I read the first 2 of 50 shades and like it a lot. I find the sub/dom stuff very hot. Overall I think that is a very small part of the story because Ana is a very strong and independent woman on her own. I don't get why so many made such a big deal out of that part of the story.
Thanks Zook I guess I need to look harder next time. My only update is that we are officially going for IVF in June/July. I'll find out in the next week or so when/if I will be on BCPs until then.
