Could I be having a miscarriage? Just need some insight. I am 10wks and 3days. The baby is measuring small only 6 weeks. From the first ultrasound I felt like something was wrong. 1st u/s was at 8 weeks, doctor could only see a yolk sac, told me I was really early. He also told me I had a fibroid. Went the next week and he saw 2 sacs, one had a fetal pole and the other was only a yolk sac. Fast forward to Saturday 4/21/2012, started bleeding and finally went to the ER. They did an u/s and pelvic exam. During the u/s only saw one sac. They told me everything was ok. Sent me home. No bleeding on Sunday. I started bleeding again on Monday around 11:00am. I called my ob to let him know what was going on and what happened on Saturday. OB told me to come in on Thursday for u/s. I was spotting all day and night on Monday. Tuesday around 3:00pm I decided to go to ER after no word from ob. While at the ER they checked my HCG levels (14,000) Also I started bleeding really bad. TMI= started passing clots. Never seen so much blood before in my life. This went on for about two hours. The ER doctor told me my chances of having a miscarriage were pretty high considering all the blood and the clots. I have to go back tomorrow to have my levels tested again. If the doctor saw two sacs, is it possible to lose one baby and still carry the second. There was so much blood and could feel thick clots just gushing out of me Sorry TMI. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks. I am really nervous and scared.
Re: Could I be????
Oh, I am so sorry you are going through this. Iknow how scary this is and I am NO nurse or doctor so really can't say. I do know my m/c (at 6 weeks) started as spotting and I was in the ER with 6 hours of unbelievable bleeding and passing clots. They did not see any sac or anything on the sonogram at the hospital that day.
Yes, it is possible to have miscarried one twin and still be carrying the other.
But I have also heard of many cases where women bleed a lot in the 1st trimester. So really just get to your Dr. ASAP today for HCG test and the sonogram.
Again, I am so sorry. I know how this feels. Take care of yourself and best of luck.
Your situation sound very similiar to mine except I knew I was losing the baby when the Dr. called and told me my level dropped from Wed - Fri.....I have a friend that was preggo with twins and lost one and the other baby was healthy.
Try not to worry too much even though I know it is hard...Good Luck and I hope your not having a miscarriage....
First of all I'm so sorry you're going through this. I know it sucks.
To answer your question...yes, I do think you're miscarrying.
When did you get your BFP?
If you are 10w3d then the earliest you could have gotten a BFP would have been Wednesday, March 7th (give or take a day) at only 3w3d. If you were 6 weeks along then the earliest you could have gotten a BFP would have been Saturday, April 7th. So one way to tell if you're right on how far along you are would be to think back to the day you got your BFP. If it was closer to March 7th then chances are you do not have a viable pregnancy.
I hope I'm not coming across as harsh. I've been where you are. I just don't want to sugar coat it. (((hugs)))
