Sometimes I wish there was a support group in my area. My family is supportive but I think it would really help to have other mommies around that CD. A group that got together for play dates or trips to the zoo would be even better. I tried to find a few though meetup but none of them accepted my request to join them, maybe because I am a younger mom (in my early 20s).
I find myself from time to time actually wondering if sposies would just be easier and then snap out of it when I am washing my CDs or see how cute she looks.
Does anyone else feel this way? Any CD moms in the Detroit MI area?
You will never know how much you mean to me my little jelly Bean.

I feel the same way. I live in rural Iowa and I don't know a single CD mom near me, much less a natural baby or cloth diaper store. It's especially frustrating because we moved here from Austin, TX, which I would wager has one of the highest CDing rates around.
I'm also a young(ish) mom. Too bad we're not closer!
I am lucky that I have a CD store not to far away. Infact they are hiring but I plan I breastfeed and am not sure if I want to go back to work. I think I could find some CD mama support there though so I am torn. hehe. I would spend my paychecks in store though.

This! The ONLY place I have met other CD moms IRL is at my BF support group. It's held at our local hospital center. My pedi referred me. Even if BFing is working well for you (Lucky! Lol), it's nice to meet with like-minded moms. I think we talk about CDs just as much, maybe more, than BFing!
There's always an official topic, but there's usually a lot of socializing, too. It's a good place to meet a mom and ask if she wants to go for coffee later in the week. And they always need moms with a variety of experience! Having a bunch of people saying how hard and terrible everything was does NOT inspire a pregnant woman.
So don't worry about the topics - give it a shot.

You could also check with the cloth store to see what they have. Mine has meet-ups.
I wish I did for sure. I am the only person I know in my area who CD's. A couple of friends from my hometown who are TTC are planning to CD, but I never get to see them and rarely talk to them. Plus its not quite the same because when they think of CDing (and babies in general) its a lot more idealized.
I get my crunchy fix on here and also from DD's pedi. Her pedis and NP's LOVE cloth. I always get positive comments about her dipes and it helps a lot.
