2 vessel cord - non-stress tests and u/s to check growth

Hi,

 I am 32 weeks this week and my doc is sending me to a maternal fetal medicine clinic for weekly non-stress tests and ultrasounds due to a 2 vessel cord... She said I have to do this twice a week until I deliver plus my regular OB appointments... This seems a bit excessive to me since I am measuring perfectly and baby was 2.5 lbs @ 28 week u/s... I am totally fine with going in that much it just worries me!!! I think I will just be nervous until she arrives!!! Anyone else gone through this or are going through this now???

My little guy has a 2 vessel cord too.  I had an extra us at 27 weeks where he was measuring ahead.  They actually asked me if I wanted to get another one done and I said sure.  So Ill be going at around 33 weeks again to get another one.  My doctor didnt seem concerned at all.  I wouldnt stress because you said she was measuring perfectly.  Best of luck!!!

I had this with my son but only had appts once per week & u/s every few weeks.  Different doctors will approach it differently though so don't worry, yours is just being cautious.

I was told last week (31 weeks) that my baby had a 2 vessel cord also. I go to the High Risk Dr next week....I've read so many things about it. Alot of scary things but I'm thinking postive because he is growing 4lbs 6oz last week and measuring big. Please keep us posted.

I"m exactly where you are (at 28w baby was 2lb8oz) and we have a 2 vessel cord.  I just had another follow up u/s to check growth and I'll have weekly NST's.

My baby has the samething.  My Dr. noticed this at my 20 week ultrasound.  I also saw a specialist and there was nothing else wrong, baby is completely fine.  I've been having monthly ulrasounds, and just started NST at 33 weeks.  Everything will be fine.

I am 32 weeks and having to go 2x a week for non stress test and 1x every two weeks for ultrasound but for GD.
