Trouble TTC

24 and TTTC since October 2010

I am 24, and my DH is 28. I had the Modemsafter our first child, born April 22, 2009And had it removed September 2010 because I was having cysts from it and they were rupturingand we wanted to have baby #2. We are bothhealthy, active people, I take prenatal vitaminsand all the things my doctor said could help.My DH avoids hot tubs and everything we couldfind for suggestions we have done. We have nohealth concerns that we know of that could bepreventing us from conceiving. I would prefer tostay away from clomid and hormones if possible. Our doctor recommended my husband get hissperm checked before anything else...butI still feel like there's more we can do. Suggestions please!

  • Even though you dont want to do hormonal treatment, I would still consider seeing an RE for testing and a diagnosis.  Once you get a diagnosis, you will know better what your options moving forward are.

  • You know your body naturally makes hormones, right?

I don't know what the modems is other than a computer modem and I don't think you had that after birth.. but if you are concerned -  getting tested doesn't mean you have to jump to treatment right away.

  • First of all, everyone would PREFER to stay away from clomid and hormones if possible.  Unfortunately for those of us on this board, we don't have the luxury of avoiding these because we have IF diagnoses.

Have you been charting/temping?  Are your cycles normal?  And what in the world is "the Modemsafter" supposed to mean??

This. I tried googling it and found nothing that didn't refer to computer modems.

  • Sorry all, my phone autocorrected. I hadthe Mirena! I have been charting and doing ovulation prediction kits and I have a 28-30day cycle. My ovulation is on day 12 or 13 varying with longer cycles. I seem to be ovulatingevery month and my husband is having an appointment set up for semen analysis. Alsoon the third day of my next cycle my ob ishaving me do blood testing to check my naturalhormone levels and thyroid. She had a long namefor it that I can't remember. And yes I know I naturally have hormones, I'mnot an idiot. Thank you for the nice responses and helpful feedback! The first one coming unexpectedly I was very lucky and now don'tknow what to do with myself
