Vent: SIL pregnant again

DH and I are loaning my BIL and SIL a large sum of money since they got in so much debt from buying a house before they were ready and having a baby before they were ready. DH gives them the check this weekend (after everyone finished signing a promissory note) and right before he leaves BIL smiles and shows him an ultrasound picture.  DH is shocked and asked "Was this planned?" BIL said "Well, kinda. We figured now that we have the money situation figured out, we started trying." DH is not happy and needless to say I am pissed off.  SIL doesn't listen to anyone and is stubborn.  I know they are going to end up in debt again because they can't really afford day care and they have not even started a retirement account because "We can't afford it."  And having another baby is going to make it worse! I told DH that we are never loaning them money again, I don't care how badly they get into debt.  

  I don't know what I am more upset about the fact that we gave them a large loan and then decided it was a good idea to get pregnant or that SIL is pregnant and not me.  I cried all the way home from the airport. We could have used that money for another cycle or cushioned our own savings.  IF sucks and I just want to cry all day.

Unfreakingbelievable.  I'm so sorry.  IF sucks.  And people who get pregnant who have no clue suck too.  ((hugs))

I'd be livid.

I hate when anyone expects anything from me and it sounds as though they planned this all out. 

Having a money situation "figured out" and borrowing substantial sums from someone is not the same thing. It sounds like they are extremely selfish and always will rely on others to pick up the pieces for them. 

It's awfully generous of you guys to help them out, but wow. I can't get over the entitlement they have.

Sorry that you feel burned, although I'd feel the same way. I hope they get the money back to you sooner than expected.
