I had my mid-cycle scan yesterday (CD12) and had a 20mm follicle and a 14mm follicle. However, my lining was 6.9, and they want it to be a little bigger. The RE told me to trigger tomorrow night for IUI on Friday morning.
But... between Monday and Friday, will that 20mm follicle turn out to be too big? Will the 14 be fine by then? Or are we possibly just wasting a cycle on two follicles that won't work out?
Also, does your H go with you? Just curious about that.
Re: IUI girls - a few questions
Hmm I don't know. I had a 19.5 mm follicle and an 18mm follicle at my scan yesterday and they had me trigger right there and come in for the IUI 24 hours later. My lining was 6.5 I believe and they didn't mention it one way or the other.
Did you get your blood work back? I would be nervous Friday is too late. But this is my first cycle so I don't really know what I'm saying.
ETA. I just rechecked and my lining was actually 8.5 yesterday. It was 6.5 on Friday.

I would have triggered yesterday and had an IUI Wednesday with a 20mm follicle but every doctor is different. The 14 could grow and release too, but no guarantees. I'm sure the 20mm follicle will be fine, even with it growing.
I go with my husband for the IUI deposit and he sits in the room with me for the IUI. My RE makes me prop my hips for 20 minutes after, so we talk and joke around together during that time.
This is my 2nd IUI cycle, and I had two IUIs this weekend. My DH was in the room for both. My doctor has DH push the plunger. Then I have to lie still for about 10 minutes, so we just chill.
Did they tell you what your E2 level is?
Usually they trigger with the lead follie, not the one lagging.

If your 20mm is only growing 1mm per day then it will only be 23mm when it ovulates- which is still fine, and your 14 will be 17mm which will possibly be able to ovulate due to the trigger but may not be mature.
As for your lining. It needs to at least be 6mm before trigger for implantation to be possible, but they like it to be 8mm for best chances. It too can grow 1mm per day so that means it will be over 8mm by the time you trigger tomorrow night.
Keep in mind that follies can grow as much as 2-3mm per day (but not as likely...I've had one follie grow 2.5mm a day but have been told I'm a very fast grower). So your 20mm could be as big as 29mm, which some REs consider over mature. But then the 14, if at the same growing rate would be 23mm. Remember this is not likely!!
But assume based on probability that you have one follie in "perfect" range and another that is close, and your lining will be just where they want it. Good luck!

I agree with the other posters about your follicle check. My RE says on average follicles can grow 2mm a day, so if that was the case your follicle may be around 24 when you trigger, I think that will be fine and if the 14 is growing too maybe you'll get two good ones out of the deal. Did they give you estrogen or anything to thicken the lining?
DH goes with me for the actual insemination. And that's the only part he goes with me for. The rest of it just seems kind of pointless for him to be there, but there are women in my RE's office who bring their husband to every appt even to get their blood drawn for their beta.

My RE would have had me trigger that night, with IUI 36 hours later, even with a lining of 6.9mm. As Katib said, as long as your lining is above a 6 at trigger, it is okay. Your lining will still grow between trigger and IUI. Plus, you could always add Estrace (or Estrogen) if your lining is still thin at IUI. I have been on Estrace during my 2ww for 5 of my 6 IUIs.
As far as DH goes, he does not come with my to the IUIs unless it was a weekend (which has not happened yet). DH provides his sample at home before he leaves for work, and I take it with me. He works 45 minutes away, and would need to take a half day in order to come in 1.5 hours late so there is no point in him missing work for the IUI.

Mine has always used the lead follie. Once it's at least 18mm & my E2 level is high enough, I'm told to trigger that night.
