Has anyone on Zoloft/Sertraline experienced night sweats? I'm dealing with it right now to the point it's waking me up and I have to change. Is there anything I can do or take? My Dr's office is closed for Good Friday and it's driving me nuts!
I remember getting night sweats when I first started Zoloft, after DD#2 was born. It was fustrating, but after a few weeks, most of the side effects did end. I remember sleeping in a tank top and underwear, with no covers, and still being drenched....Did I mention it was in the dead of winter, in New England?!? LOL! It will get better...just hang on!
Shortly after I started I would sweat when doing things like walking thru the airport to pick my sister up, walking from my bathroom to my living room as I was getting ready in the morning, and I found that odd because it wasn't hot in my house.
This has continued even after my dose increase, the night sweats have come on within the last week. I recall going thru this years ago when I was on it, but I don't remember it ever getting any better.
I'm going to call my Dr on Monday to see if there is anything that can be done, or if medication does in fact need to be changed. Waking up drenched every night is no fun lol
The night sweats could be due to the Zoloft Or it could be just a side effect of pregnancy and post partum. I was reading on another board that the ladies there were having night sweats (so bad they had to change clothes too...) and they weren't on any kind of meds. I'm currently on a low dose and have night sweats as well but also had them before I started taking meds. Could be a combination?? You are not alone! Hope it gets better because I need minimal disruption at night time...LOL:)
I had pretty bad night sweats for the first month or two on Zoloft. They totally went away after that, though (I was on the medication for almost two years) along with the other side effects (insomnia, dry mouth, etc.)
I took Zoloft years ago and recall having the same problem, so I'm pretty sure it's related to that. I called my Dr this morning and left a message, hoping to hear back about a solution soon.
Interesting...I had night sweats a lot for about the first 6+ months on zoloft and I never made the connection. I started it a year PP, so I don't think it was the hormones...
