I purchased these two items when we suspected yeast. It has since been confirmed by my daughter's doctor that it is NOT yeast, but I want to take the extra step and make sure her diapers are super clean anyway.
My question(s) - a lot of you recommended these two products to me, but I don't know exactly how to use them. Do I use them together, or one time GFSE and one time TTO? Do I put it in right with the diapers themselves, or where the softener / bleach compartment is? Do I do it during the hot wash or the rinse cycle? (I've heard lots of conflicting info about this one.) Also, how many drops of each - I've heard about 15 - 20? As always, thank you!
Re: Grapefruit Seed Extract & TTO in Wash
I don't know what the "proper" way to do it is but what I chose to do, is the following:
quick wash, no detergent, use grapefruit seed oil, about 20 drops, Then the regular wash cycle with prewash - in prewash I put in tea tree oil about 20-30 drops, then regular detergent in the wash. Two extra rinses. I've been doing this for two days now and I haven't seen any problems with her bottom yet so we will see..
Thanks. Maybe I will try that out. The TTO smell is so strong! It's s good thing it's not an offensive smell.
I put them in the rinse cycle together - or if I miss it, I do another hot wash with the oils together without anything else.
Can't say it's what you're supposed to do, but it's what I do
