My Dr. Set my induction date for Apr 9 today which will be 9 days past my due date. I was so upset. I know I still have 2 weeks to go into labor naturally but it was just so discouraging to have that deadline date now.
My Dr. Did say that she likes to start with the foley balloon catheter before pitocin. So I guess thats good.
Has anyone gotten that as a form of induction and then not needed pitocin to keep things moving along? I'm so scared of pitocin and so discouraged after all of the work we've done preparing for a nucb.

Re: Anyone have Balloon Cervical Catheter for Induction?
I was. I had to be induced at 37 weeks, so it is a bit of a different situation. I was a 2 when the balloon was placed. When it was removed in the morning (they put it in at night) I was at 3/4 cm and I lost my MP soon after. I did have pit after that, but I did not need an epi and had a great labor and delivery. My whole birth story is in my sig. if you are interested.
My doula told me before my induction that she had seen women go into labor with just the foley, so it is possible, especially since you will be so far along, it might be the extra bump your body needs.
However, 9 days is really far away! You'll more than likely go into labor on your own before that! GL!!!
