Makeup Brush Cleaner?

It's expensive! I'm looking on Ebay, and most are ~2 oz for $12+ship.  What do you girls use to clean your makeup brushes & how much does it cost?

 Thanks!

I have one from MAC right now, but I think I've heard of some people using baby shampoo - fill up the sink with warm water, add some shampoo, swish around. I was thinking of trying that.

You might try posting on the Nest fashion/beauty board. Or maybe there's something on makeupalley.com.

The lady from MAC told me to use shampoo for color treated hair.  I use herbal essences.

No clue if it's good or not, but I use good old Palmolive.  It's super gental, but does the cleaning trick well.  I just wet the brush, put some on and work it through the brush, then let it sit for a bit.  Rinse well and let it air dry.  I don't have any super expensive brushes though, so not sure if it would be good for those.

Thanks for the tips, girls. The shampoo idea sounds easy and cheap; I'll try that.
