Unnecessary worrying?

Im 15 weeks pregnant with my first baby and Im a total worry wart. I get concerned that theres something wrong with the baby, even though I dont have any real reason to worry because everything feels normal. Does anyone else worry about that kinda stuff?

Re: Unnecessary worrying?

  • I worry constantly, though I've been better about it the past few days. I was driving myself crazy and really had to get it in check. I think each of us has to find our own way to deal with the constant worrying, since I don't think it ever goes away from here on out! You're definitely not alone :)

  • Thanks!  I just have to trust that if something was really wrong that I would know about it.

I am a worrier too.... I try to control myself but some days that is impossible. I think we all just handle the worries differently, but I am sure the others worry as well?

  • Same here!  I'm 16 weeks and this is our first child.  I get concerned about whether or not I'm drinking enough water, eating enough (especially since my morning sickness was HORRID!!), sleeping in the right position (because I usually rotate to all 4 sides during the night)...all kinds of stuff!

You're not the only one...trust me!

  • I worry too!  Some days are worse than others.  I think it's normal.  I just try and remind myself that everything is ok.

  • A little bit here and there is normal. But really worry is only productive if it leads something you can take action on.  If worry is something that seems to be taking up an inordinate amount of your mental energy or taking away the joy of being pregnant, I would encourage you to seek out some help from a doctor, counselor, self-help book, pastor, etc. That may sound extreme to try to curb it, but in reality worry may only grow when baby is here, right? Learning now how to turn it off or channel it into something productive will help you be a better mom and in turn help your child be better equipped to feel empowered and independent (as is age-appropriate). I know many moms who feel like worrying is their obligation as a parent, and to honest they just never seem that happy or relaxed. How tiring! Hopefully for you, it is just a little thing and not consuming. We've all been there!

  • I worry constantly. it's horrible.
