Can I take a fiber pill with Colace?

I called the Dr this morning and they suggested Colace, Citracel (the fiber), black coffee and juice with plenty of water. 

I forgot to ask if I could take both at the same time.

 

I'm loaded this morning. So far I've had 32oz of water, 14oz of Apple Juice, an egg mcmuffin, hash brown, wild berry smoothie and my Colace. I'm making the coffee now and I have my fiber pill ready to pop. Lol

    Hmm, I'm not sure either!  I wonder if if it depends on the amount of fiber in one pill?  I take colace once a day (sometimes up to 3 times if I'm still having issues) but then I'll eat anywhere from 2-4 fiber bars or something else high fiber, lol.  Eventually it gets things moving.

    After some Googling I found it's safe to take it as long as you don't overdo it. I took one tablet of the 100mg Colace and one tablet of the Citrucel. From what I read, you also have to be sure to drink a ton of water while on them.

    My prenatal also has a stool softener so I don't think I'll be taking it tonight. Not sure if I should take the fiber pill since it says to take 2 caps a day.

    LOL poor poor noahbear. You can take the colace and citracel yes. If you REALLY want to step up your regimen (though I could never do this myself) you could drink prune juice (rather than fruit juice) which is a known poop-helper. DO keep up your water intake (to aid the fiber pill).

    I worry you are going to have a blowout! LOL but maybe that's what you need ;-)

    BFP #7 (beyond surprised again!) 4/26/16. EDD 1/5/17. beautiful betas!!!! and then near-fatal hemorrhagic corpus luteum. turns out baby was ectopic after all; another lap 5/6 (@24dpo).

    Haha, I think at this point, thats the only way I will get relief.

    According to our scale, I've put on 6lbs in less than a week. I have also taken some pictures of my belly to show the bloat. My mom couldn't believe how bloated I am from being so constipated.

    I mustered up a bit and felt better but I know I still have so much more.

    Yes, you can!  I used to do it every day for my GI issues.  I've regulated since then, so I just take the fiber now, but I never had an issue (and pharmacist DH had no problem with it).

    Sounds like they are not local to you. There are a smoothy store. The drinks/smoothies are flipping amazing! I think you can buy bags of them pre-made in the frozen food isle. Is there a smoothy place near you?

    Sounds like they are not local to you. There are a smoothy store. The drinks/smoothies are flipping amazing! I think you can buy bags of them pre-made in the frozen food isle. Is there a smoothy place near you?  

    Not that I know of but I can ask a neighbor

    i take colace with my fiber pills when it gets really bad. just be prepared for being gassy

    TTC since 05/10

    Dx: PCOS,Hypothyroidism, Endometriosis, elevated prolactin

    Surgery: Laproscopy 12/15/11 to remove Endo, 8/12/11 to remove 7cm cyst and cauterize 4cm cyst

    April 2011 - Clomid 50 mg round 3 - O'd CD 18 BFP 5/2 C/P 5/10

    RE Consult 06/02/11, Sonohystogram - clear, DH SA - great! HSG all Clear.

    Meet up with RE for plan of attack 10/25: 2 natural rounds and then onto clomid

    CD 21 BW shows poor ovulation, November 2011 Clomid 50 mg round 4 - BFP on 11/30 Lilypie First Birthday tickers
