The time has come

I just dropped of my baby at day care for the first time.I came back to work a month ago and my in laws were watching her during this time. Now they are going back home and she is starting school.

I have been on the other side (preschool teacher) and I know she will be fine, but it is so hard to leave your 4 month old with strangers. when I left she was holding her ducky and seating on the bouncer. So cute, but it broke my heart to leave her...I broke down as soon as I got to work.

I guess I will have a long day ahead...I am counting the minutes to pick her up.

    Its hard to leave them at that age- now my son is 8 months and has been going since 3 months. I can truly say now that he loves being there.  When I drop him off he has a huge smile and immediately crawls over to his little friends. He has so much fun there.

    This is why I hate drop off and make DH do it.  I know she's having fun at daycare but I don't like leaving her!

    Your lo will do great and make new friends and learn so much at daycare!!

    Hang in there.  It can be emotional.  But remember, the teachers may seem like strangers now but they will be extended family in no time. 

    This.  It gets easier with time, I promise.  And soon she'll be looking forward to her time at daycare.  Hang in there.  The first day is hard.  It is nice you had some transition time.

    One day at a time is what I told myself. I have been back at work since DD was 6 weeks old and it tore me up the first time leaving her. She has thrived so much at daycare and loves going and playing with her little friends. My favorite part is picking her up because I am always greeted by a loud "MAMA" and she runs over to me gives me a hug and kiss. It will get easier as you get into the swing of things and she gets a little older. Good luck!

    Thank you everyone!! I called DC and they said she is doing amazing. She is a great baby and I knew she was going to be fine, but it is hard!!! I feel a lot better now though...

    Aww, hang in there! It gets better. Just think, in a few hours (Or more) you'll get to see her :)
