  • Two years on the bump and I still can't figure out how to use a quote box. :(
  • I left MIL off the "safe" list at daycare and put my best friend down instead, when we signed up for daycare this week.

When I told MIL about the daycare she got upset that FIL would not be watching both kids and that she would like to take the kids on her days off. The way she made it sound she would just pick them up and then return them to the daycare when she was done. Cold day in hell! We have been waiting to get into this place for almost a year. We pay for the days we don't go unless the kid is sick because they won't take them.

DH may or may not be aware that I did this. We discussed it once but I didn't make a big deal about it.

  • Sometimes on my day off during the week I put off house work until the last few hours before DH comes home and I haul ass to get it all done so it looks like I was busy all day but really.... Not so much. The end result is the same but my day off vs his day off is very different. I like to relax sometimes too !
  • I delete recorded shows on our DVR box that I don't like.  DH records Pawn Stars and Storage Wars...I delete a handful every now and then so I don't have to watch them with him.  I feel no shame! Those shows are on TV all the time, he doesn't need to fill up the DVR box with them.

@jonesl12...I do that too! And I sometimes work up a sweat doing it quickly, so DH things I have been working hard all day! Again, no shame!

  • I called in sick today. I'm spending some one on one time with my youngest while the big kids are at school.
  • @Knottie9983816 blame it on the hormones.

I have the day off and I'm still lying in bed at 8:30. I feel naughty because DH, for once, had to be up early and will be all weekend. Now that I've realized how comfortable this bed is, I don't know if I'll get out of it my entire maternity leave.

I've worn the same pair of jeans all week, 5 days in a row, to work. I don't even care! They are loosened just enough to fit comfortably (with my belly band of course) and my other jeans are all freshly washed which means they will be skin tight. I also haven't washed my hair in 2 days, I don't give a fuuuuuuuck! I have 2 hours left of work and my weekend of yoga pants starts, yay!
I have literally worn the same 2 pairs of black pants on rotation every day to work for approximately 3 weeks. They are the only pants I have that fit me and I don't want to buy more.

    Hope nobody notices!
  • Another one, DD1 has an uncommon name that is more of a boys name and I am not ashamed to say DD2 will also be graced with more of a boys name. We love their names. Their middle names are very feminine.
  • I stay in bed every day until I want to or absolutely must get up, usually either because I need to pee, MUST eat, or I have an appointment of some sort. I have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep at night, and it's soooo much easier to sleep after the house clears out in the morning. I usually get up around 10 or 11, because baby's gotta eat... but sometimes I'll eat and then doze off again. >:)

I might feel a twinge of guilt now and then, if I should have done the dishes or gone to the grocery store... But only a little bit. Once this baby gets here I'll be on 24/7 mommy duty again (my first two are teens now, and DH gets my SS up in the morning) so I'm enjoying this while I can.

@Brandi81012 I'm with you! I have a female cousin named Glenn Ashley (named for my father Glenn after he passed away) and my DD's name is Ashton Carolyn, and I think both names are lovely.

I think the "gender-specific"ness of a name is sort of a fluid thing anyway.... At least to a degree. Like how "Ashley" and "Courtney" used to solely be male names. "Ashton" is fast becoming a popular name for girls now, but when DD was born 15 years ago the only female I'd ever seen with the name was the gorgeous vixen character on the miniseries North and South (but that's not why I chose it, lol).
  • I got a surprise day off today, and I know DH couldn't sleep last night, but he always takes DS to daycare in the mornings.. so even though I was already awake, I made him get up and take E to school anyway. It's raining and he was already parked behind me in the driveway. I helped him out on Tuesday because I had time.. but I never get weekdays off and I'm cozy snug in bed again. No shame.

He called me on his way home to ask if I wanted anything while he was out. What a peach. ;)
  • @cmjenkies He's definitely a keeper!
  • I want to give my baby a middle name that references a Grateful Dead song....It's a beautiful name but SO wants to give her my middle name but I don't care for it because it's probably *the* most common female middle name, Marie, though it also references a GD song.

  • @yodiggity What middle name do you want to use? I'm in the same boat as your SO with our baby boy; I want to give baby my DH's first name as a middle name (Everett <3), but he's always gone by a nickname and doesn't like the name. :(
  • Mine is that I don't flush the toilet in the middle of the night if I get up to pee. The bathroom is close to DS's room and I don't want to wake him. Not. Worth. Waking. The. Toddler.
Neither do I!!! And I get up for work before DH so I know I'll flush before he goes in there.

My husband would love this. He's a huge GD fan. He's going to see the dead with John Mayer tonight actually! :) What's the name?

  • Sometimes I take bathroom breaks just to check Facebook on my phone. I don't actually need a bathroom break. But I can't check my Facebook with students in the room since the firewall blocks it (but strangely not TB...)

Agreed...mine is Ann. We did give it to DD because it's a family tradition on my dad's side the oldest daughter has that middle name. It's also MIL middle name so DH had no problem with it. With how bat crap crazy she is I was hesitant but I just roll my eyes when she tells people Dd is named after her...never mind it's my middle name too.

  • @Mailmans Baby Momma I don't have a toddler and I still don't flush the toilet in the middle of the night sometimes! I'm half asleep when I pee so sometimes I forget.

@jonesl12 I honestly do that shit all the time! I seriously wait until the last possible second before I have to clean.

My FFFC is when I first became pregnant and discovered I have the nose of a blood hound, DH deodorant and cologne made me want to puke. I never had problems until I became pregnant, and now I can't stand it. His cologne also lingers so I smell it all over the bedroom. I've asked him countless times to stop wearing them until after I give birth. Or spray his shit outside. Or something. But he won't listen to me. FINE. 2 can play that game. He came home one day to find his deodorant and cologne missing. Never to be found again. He thinks I threw it away, but really it's in my makeup drawer. A place he will never venture towards. Now we can go cologne shopping for something that doesn't reek! Muwahaha

I had to do this with DH when I was pregnant with Dd. I am so happy it didn't return this time around.

We're 98% sure we will be naming her Ruby. I want to name her either "Ruby Claire" (Ruben & Cherise) or "Ruby Magnolia" (Sugar Magnolia). We *could* name her Ruby "Ann Marie" (Friend of the Devil) and still use my middle name but the two middle names is weird and I don't understand monogramming etiquette with 4 names. Plus my ex-mil's name is Ann (whom I adore) and my recently deceased grandmother who I never really cared much for (though my dad would absolutely love it).

I had a half a glass of wine with dinner on Tuesday. We ate outside and it was unseasonably cold (50, in Phoenix) and I just could not get warm. Only other option was bad coffee, which would have kept me up all night. So I had the half glass of wine, and it was damn delicious.
I took the tiniest sip of SO's margarita the other night when we were at our fave mexican joint. I felt so bad but it was barely a straw full and it was delicious.

That is why I can't go to Mexican restaurants while I'm pregnant. Cant have Mexican food without some form of a margarita
  • @jonesl12 DH just brought me a McD's double cheeseburger with no pickles, I ate it with chips and salsa from my favorite Mexican place I had last night. Holy sodium.. but really, holy YUM. TGIF! :)

Dude, same. Also...saves on water since I get up 39 times a night! Haha

  • @rebelone, I do believe you live next door to my father-in-law.  He obsesses about his lawn maintenance!  And to be honest, it does NOT look that good!

I ate a 10 piece nugget with a cheeseburger and large fry.... it was impressive
  • i never feel guilty having a glass wine or a beer once a week.  not one little squeak of it.  DD1 is 3.5 years of proof it can be done.
