how do i begin - stopping night time feeding

Hey ladies,

So my LO is 15months old and still wakes up about 2-3x a night to nurse - I had no problem with it in the past but i am so so so so tired...I don't even know how to start.

When he sleeps over my parents house he doesn't fuss that much but if he sees me forget it - it tugs my shirt and demands a nurse session lol -

any tips??

I haven't done it yet, but that's my plan.

This is a good place to start.  I tried it when DS was around 15-16 months and after a few nights decided that neither of us was emotionally ready for ending nighttime feeding, so we'll try it again when he doesn't have such a high need for that type of comfort, but I'll go the Jay Gordon route again if I need to.

Yeah, this is a good method (it worked for DS1), but 15 months might be a little young for it to really work.

You could have your DH sleep in between you guys, and see if that cuts down on it. Wear a sweatshirt to bed (something that's less easily accessible to him). Have you tried sleeping apart from him, and letting your DH do some night time duties? If I can get a decent unbroken stretch in the beginning of night (by sleeping apart from DS), I'm usually okay with letting him nurse from, say, 3 am onwards. hth!

    DS2 - Oct 2010 (my VBAC baby!)
