2nd Trimester

15 weekers

I will be 15 weeks tomorrow and I have noticed my stomach getting a little harder. Is this normal? I am a FTM, so I honestly do not know what to expect. Also, how come I'm not feeling my uterus really, like I still have this ledge at my bikini line, maybe a little above it. It really hasn't moved. I don't know if that is my uterus that I am feeling or what.

So, at 15 weeks, should I be feeling my uterus further up? Where do you feel yours at?

Re: 15 weekers

  • I went to my midwife at 15w exactly, and my uterus was two fingers below my belly button, which she said was one week ahead (where it would typically be at 16w, in other words). But I didn't know how to feel for the top of my ute until she taught me. And yes, things are getting firmer.

  • I'm just 16w and also a FTM. I just saw my dr last week and asked her about it. She said it was totally normal and that I looked fine. It's a strange feeling, though, right?

  • I have a lot of fat on my stomach (size 24 pre pregnancy) and no visible bump. I don't think I've ever felt my uterus but I do feel my stomach several times a day, and I am noticing changes. I feel more firmness under the fat. My bottom fat roll is more... rounded and pronounced than it used to be, I guess I could say. It's changed and become more firm in the past week or so.

  • At 15w I think your uterus is probably a little higher than what you think you feel. Unless I'm having a braxton hicks contraction, my uterus is pretty soft in my mid-belly area (always firm low down by the bikini line though), but I know what to feel for so I know it's there. So if you haven't felt it before, you might just be missing it.

  • my stomach has been getting harder for the past couple of weeks too.  completely normal.  I'm starting to have an actual bump as opposed to looking like i ate a gallon of ice cream for the past couple nights!
