Im going to Florida at 31 weeks (only 2hr flight). I went to the dr. yesterday and they don't recommend flying after 25 weeks. Yes, my ob is conservative.
But Im just wondering how it was for you?

I am flying at 31 weeks and I am going to Florida too. My doc said I am fine to fly to 32 weeks. So I am not worrying about it. I think you will be fine as long as you are having a healthy pregnancy.
My best friend and I are also going to Florida (Sanibel Island) with our husbands in April. I will be 20 weeks and she will be 31 weeks. She's getting a letter from her doctor but he gave her the green light. Our doctors don't seem concerned with it.
I'll be flying at 30 weeks - also a 2 hour flight. My doctor told me I'd be perfectly fine flying through mid-June and I'm due at the end of August. The 6-8 weeks before I'm due, she'd rather me somewhat close to home, though.
I haven't yet asked about a 22 hour drive mid-June. Of course we'd stop halfway but I assume since I'm OK to fly, I'm OK to ride. I guess I should double check.

Check with your airline, some will refuse to let you on. Even with a dr note, they all have their own policys
Uh, exactly where did you get that info? At 31 weeks I don't think there's a single airline that will raise issue - if they have restrictions, they're usually for within 7 days of your due date - and I've never heard of a woman being asked to show proof of that, anyway.
Are you confusing airlines with cruise lines?

I have never done any research on it, but my dr. told me the same thing ((to check with the airline if I plan on flying)). Even if it seems silly, rather be safe than sorry.

Just to play devil's advocate- there are airlines that have restrictions. Here's one:
I stopped flying at 26 weeks because of the way it affected me...I was also on a 6 hour flight. I swelled very badly (edema) and started got sick with turbulence from the nausea...My doc like yours, is very conservative and recommended that I not fly at all...

I'm flying from San Francisco to Hawaii when I'm 27 weeks and I'll be 28 weeks flying back. My doctor approved and told me I could fly anytime before 35 weeks. I also think this decision has a lot to do with your health.
I had heard up to 34 weeks was ok unless you have complications. Personally, I wouldnt want to though cause I'm already getting uncomfortable traveling.

Um, yeah. Which reads exactly as I said, that IF there is a restriction it's likely for within 7 days of your due date. Not 9 weeks before:
"For domestic flights under five hours, travel is not permitted within seven days before and after your delivery date."
