Updating for Charlotte (RaisetheBar)

Charlotte asked if I could update since she's exhausted and in emotional pain from what happened tonight.

"kensley elaine was born at 25w2d. she came out at 1lb 14oz and 14in. they rushed her straight to the nicu, i didn't even get to touch her. they put DD on a ventilator. i am praying with my heart that she's okay. i'm trying to hold in my tears so my DS doesn't see me cry about his sister. "

Praying for baby Kensley! Her story made me start bawling, I just can't imagine having LO at 25 weeks. Charlotte, you are so strong and brave.

T & P for baby Kensley and her mom.  Having a micro-preemie is definitely a difficult experience.  My little Adalyn came at 26w2d and I didn't get to see her for the first time until about 9 hours after she was born since I was completely out for her birth.

Sending prayers. I did not get to see Brooklyn and Blake for over 12 hours after I had them.  That was one of the hardest things not being able to see them.  I hope that your NICU stay will be as brief as possible and also uneventful.

Thanks for the update - I'm sorry to hear she's going to be wrapped in her own NICU journey but she'll be in good company. It took me a while to log onto this board after having DS but there is a lot of support here. Please have a log at the links in my siggy - there is one for friends and family that maybe you could forward to someone so they'll have ideas on how to help. GL!

My twins were born at 25w2d as well.  They weighed 1lb 10oz and I saw them like 16 hrs after birth.  They are both home with me now.  Praying for her for the strength to get through this tough time.

Awww, keeping her in my thoughts! I had my c-section at 6:30PM with Corri and literally saw a flash of a foot before she was taken to the NICU...I didn't see her until about 1:00 the following afternoon. Hope she gets to see her soon!

My thoughts and prayers are with her - My DD was born at 22 w 5 d. Weighing 1 lb and 4 oz - She turned One Year Old yesterday and is a beautiful bright and relatively healthy baby.  Please share my story with Charlotte if you can and let her know that should she want to contact me I would be happy to tell her about our NICU journey.

T&P for Charlotte and Kensley. Having a micro-preemie is tough. I've been there! Will continue to pray for them daily!

ETA: DD was 23w3d at 1lb 10z 11inches. All I saw were flailing arms and legs. I didn't get to see her for 3 hours after she was born. Please let her know if she wants to talk to feel free to contact me.
