1st Trimester

Announcing

Hi! I am 11 weeks and so far we have only told parents, close girlfriends and siblings.  I have my first visit with the OB today, if they find the heartbeat we were going to tell aunts, grandparents, etc...  Is 11 weeks still too early?

Re: Announcing

  • It's really a personal choice, but for us, all of those people you mentioned already knew around 8 weeks :)  We're waiting another week or so to "go public" though (FB, etc.)

  • No, 11 weeks isn't too early.  Chances of miscarriage drop dramatically after 12 weeks, and since you'll be either hearing/seeing a heartbeat at your appointment, I think that is a perfect time to tell people if you're comfortable with it.

  • I don't think so. I have an appt at 11 weeks also and we plan on sharing the news a few days later.

  • I heard the hb with the doppler at my appt on Wednesday when I was 10 weeks 5 days and after we heard it my midwife said "If you've been waiting to tell people you can definitely go ahead now"

  • we came out after our nt scan went well @ 12weeks 4days.. this was just our choice, due to a chem. preg in 2009. we just wanted to make sure we had pos. vibes before announcing.

    Announce whenever you feel "ready"
