how much is milk where you are?

The post about sippy cups has me wondering what you all are paying for milk.  I know that special kinds are more expensive (like soy and lactose free), but I'm sitll curious to know what those prices are.

We buy milk at Costco.  Whole milk (for LO) is $3.05 a gallon.  Fat free milk (for H and I) is $3.49 a gallon.  LO goes through a gallon a week.

Because I live in the middle of nowhere, a gallon of whole is $4.50.  If I buy it in the city when I go shopping, it's around $2.99.  It sucks living here!

I buy organic for DS so it's like $3.50-$4.00 for a half gallon (I sometimes have coupons and I save the Stonyfield codes so I can get coupons for free milk). For a gallon of non-organic it's probably about $3.50.

It's about $3.80 for a half-gallon.  We don't buy organic, but it is from cows that are hormone and antibiotic free.  It's also from Jersey cows, who are supposed to have more calcium and protein than other cow milk.

We buy store-brand organic soy and it is $2.69 for a 2-quart carton.  We go through about 2/week.  For soy, the organic isn't really much more expensive than regular (if you can even find it) so bonus there!

Wow! You all spend a lot on milk! A gallon of whole milk in our area is around $2.50. Fat free/skim (half gallon) runs around $1.70.

I have no idea what a gallon of skim (what DH and I drink) or regular whole milk costs.  We buy organic milk for the boys at $6.50 a gallon- they drink 3 gallons a week.

We just buy regular old whole cow's milk, the generic brand.  It's about $3.80 a gallon.  We used to buy skim for the grown-ups, but neither of us drink much milk, so no big deal to just use the whole milk.  It was getting really expensive to buy both kinds.

Also, my big complaint...bm was free!  This milk bill is really cutting into our paycheck! LOL

Hmm...I'm pretty sure we pay close to 4, but he's still on formula.  We buy ourself skim plus though.

I just paid 2.79 for a gallon of land o lakes whole milk.  She goes through a gallon every 8 days.  So much better than when she was on formula!

It depends on where we buy it. The deli is usually cheaper than the super market. It's usually around $3 at the deli and close to $5 at the SM for a gallon.

Some of you guys are able to get milk for such cheap prices.  We buy organic whole milk, so I realize it will be a little more expensive.  If I go to the grocery store around the corner it's like $5 something a gallon.  I usually buy it at Trader Joe's and it's somewhere in the $4 range (sorry, I'm no good at remembering exact prices).  We go through 1 gallon a week so it's around $20 a month for milk for DS.  It's cheaper than formula.  We were going through a large can of Target formula every 2 weeks for $19 a can, so about $40 a month.

Def better in WNY! I pay $2.05 a gallon at Aldis! Good thing b/c we go through 4 gallons a week!

$2.49/ gallon for the cheapest store brand WCM. $6.49/ gallon for store brand organic.
