I'm planning on buying one and I would like to know whic one you ladies (and hubbies) prefer. Price doesn't really matter but it's for a 23lb 7 month old. Also, which Beco or which Ergo and why?
Thank you for the help!

I have an Ergo Sport and a Beco Gemini. I slightly prefer the Beco because of the crossing straps, making it a little more comfortable and easier to put on. And it has prettier color/pattern options too.
I tried the beco butterfly and ergo with my niece over the summer. I was pregnant at the time. I liked them both about the same, but DH liked the ergo a little more....so we went with that one. I got the performance style.
Love our Becco... have seen friends' Ergos and would not like to have to snap that safety strap behind my shoulder blades. I also like being able to make the seat more narrow and not needing an infant insert.

I love our Beco Butterfly for babies and younger toddlers (up to maybe 15 mnths), but the seat isn't very wide. I couldn't get DS seated properly with his knees above his bum and he was complaining about leg pain in the Beco before he hit 2 yrs.
So, if you're only planning to wear LO until +/- 1 year old *or* you're open to getting a dedicated toddler carrier when the time comes, then I would go with the Beco. OTOH, if you want this to be your last carrier purchase *and* you want to wear well into the toddler/preschool years, I'd go with the Ergo.
I have both and I prefer the ergo. I find it's more comfortable and there's a spit to stick my credit card and keys plus the nursing hood is more discreet. I originally bought the beco Gemini for the face out carry but the fabric always goes up over her mouth, I think it bothers me more than it bothers her. Also she's tall and her legs don't seem as comfy as they are in my ergo
I tried on both and prefer the Ergo. I couldn't get the Beco tight enough to feel secure. Even the sales person said it was weird that the Beco's straps wouldn't go any smaller. I am small though...5'8" and 130lbs...not sure if that had anything to do with it.

I agree, the Beco straps are difficult to tighten if you're pretty small. I'm not super teeny or anything, though I am fairly trim (err, well, *was* trim before getting PG again! LOL), and I had to tighten the waist strap all the way to get a good fit. If I were any smaller, it would've been too loose to be comfy.
