LOL! That's funny. I'm sure if someone out there who has a daughter named Navaeh reads this, they may be offended but I'm not a fan of the name either..

Nevaeh has seen quite a bit of heated discussion over the years, but I think my biggest beef is that is a cookie cutter name story. Everyone's name has a story...why it was chosen/how it was given, and Nevaeh's origins are not much different. While a few people have used it prior, In 2000, a music artist chose it for his daugther with the idea that it was heaven spelled backwards (nevermind the backwards spelling and religon commentary for this post) and the idea caught like wildfire. The name with the built-in name story has become something that people believe gives their child's name a deeper meaning, when it's simply a copy of someone else's name story. Copying names - no big deal. Copying name stories is something else. The name has become so popular that myriad spellings have cropped up to the point where it defeats the original purpose of it being a word spelled backwards. I'm eager to see this name lose popularity, but I suspect it's ripples will be felt for a while.
This is the exact reason why we took Lana off of our list. We tried toying with different spellings and just vetoed it altogether. All it takes is one kid to figure it out and it's game over. Haha
Re: I hope this isn't too inappropriate! The name Nevaeh....
Nevaeh is just about as bad as they come.
You'll never see an educated, intelligent and rational person name their child Nevaeh.... just sayin'
