I have PCOS and because my OBGYN suggested I try losing some weight to increase my chances to get pregnant, I went on Mirenia (hormonal IUD) which caused me to stop having periods. I kept the IUD for 2 1/2 years because finical reasons left my husband and I wanting to wait for a child at the time. Now that we are ready and I lost some weight, I recently had the IUD removed. Any ladies with PCOS have stories of TTC right after removing an IUD? How long did it take? Did you still have irregular periods or did they get better?
Re: TTC after IUD w/PCOS
Hello,
I have PCOS as well, but no IUD. My GYN said to try right after stopping the pill because it is more likley for someone with PCOS to ovulate right after since the pill regulated periods. However, you didn't have periods so I have no clue how that affected your cycle....My GYN said try for a little bit, then it would be best to go back on the pill, regulate again..and so on. I am on my first month TTC after birthcontrol. We will see.

I have PCOS and had a Mirena for 4-yrs before TTC. We started TTC in April 2009 & my cycles were horribly irregular. I started trying to lose weight to see if that would help. March 2010 I joined a PCOS research study, did 3 cycles of Femara, got pregnant and m/c twice. In December 2010 I had an RPL panel run due to the m/c, had lost a total of 50lbs and my RE asked that we TTC on our own for 6-months as I was finally ovulating on my own consistently. We got our third BFP in April 2011 and our daughter was born last month.
Good luck & let me know if you have any questions
