Just so proud!

My DS had his 9 month appt yesterday and he had to have blood drawn. I was expecting crying and struggling but he just sat there and watched the tech stick the needle in his arm and didn't cry or flinch at all! After about 30 seconds he let out a little wimper but I think it was because I was squeezing him so hard from my own nervousness. I was just so proud of him! My doctor told me this was routine draw, anyone else have to have their baby's blood drawn at their 9 month appt? My DS weights 19.6 lbs and is in the 25% for weight. At birth he was in the 65% for weight but keeps progressively moving down the scale. He has stayed consistantly in the 90% for height though. His doctor said she was not too concerned and just encouraged me to keep offering him food since he is not a great eater. He is exclusively breastfed so I hear this can be common but my heart always beats a little harder when I see he has dropped more percentiles.

I am sorry, I meant that he only drinks breastmilk, not formula. He is actually is eating solids 2-3x day with snakcs in between.

DD had to have her toe pricked to check her iron levels.  She is 17.3 lbs and is in 20% for weight and 38% in height.  She too did awesome as they pricked and took some blood- just sat there and watched.

my LO had a blood draw at her 9 month appointment to check for lead. My doctor said this was standard if you live in an older home.

Our pedi say blood draw would be done at the 1 year well child check. DS has always been on the small side but pedi said he is not concerned. DS eats pretty much anything i offer he just doesn't eat lots of quantity, he is also BFing and just recently the occasional formula bottle.

My DS had to have his blood drawn at his 9 month well visit also.  I was very surprised when he didn't cry either, just had a frown on the whole time.  He was 22lbs (85%) and 30in (98%). 

They are growing so fast!!!

Or pedi doesnt do a 9 mo check up so I dont know how much lo weighs But wtg to all the babies that just sit quietly while blood is being drawn.
