I've noticed that when DS really gets wailing his cry sounds like "geh-geh-geh" with a distinct G sound. This is typically his hungry cry.
According to Dunstan's Baby Language, which was featured on Oprah and has been posted on this board a few times, the hungry cry is a "neh" sound with an N.
Now I know all babies are different but I'm just curious if anyone else's baby makes the "geh" sound or something different all together.
Re: What does your baby's cry sound like?
When DS gets really riled up he does an "uh-waaah" sound and then after 4-5 he has to catch his breath and has just the "waaah" sound which to me sounds like a goat.
He is a very noisy baby compared to when DD was small; he grunts all the time with lots of different noises/sounds. Most distinct are the pig grunt, the "eh", and something very close to a puppy's whimper. He will grunt for anywhere from 5 to 40 minutes and still be fully asleep, needless to say his grunting doesn't let DH and I get much sleep.
