The girl name? Eek. I don't care how country you are, I think Montana is awful.
I'm with this!! Very much dislike Montana. I'm not a fan of Chandler either... or calling your child by a MN - why not just make the name you'll call them the FN? It's ok if over their lifetime they decide to be called by the MN - I know this happens sometimes - but to set off with this intention is weird to me.
My DH and a lot of other people I know were never called by their first name going up. I dont think thats a big deal.... anyway Just wondering if the names flow. Its hard having 3 names that go, and What are some suggestions I could use instead of montana? that goes with fay marie

What about Magnolia? I find that a little country, but it's also a beautiful name.

Magnolia is BEAUTIFUL! You could call her Maggie...
I like Chandler but agree that if that's the name you'll use, it should be his FN not a MN. Chandler Silas James would be a better combo I think.
Odd man out here but I in no way think Montana is "terrible". I think it is a very pretty name! But that's coming from a girl who's fave name is January & I love Arizona!
I think they're all pretty. I like Magnolia too. I know a girl named Tana, after Montana. You could just use that (if you were going to call her that anyway?).

My thoughts exactly. Im not stuck on montana but really like fay marie.
I love the name Faye. You could do Faye Marie ____. Maybe Faye Marie Jane or something Like that. Also, I love pp's suggestion of Magnolia. Definitely a nice southern, country feel to it, but spunky and beautiful, too.
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
My fear for naming her Montana would be, what if, when she's school age, she ends up being a bigger girl. The name would be used against her, being that it's a big state and means "mountain." What about Helena? It's the capitol.
I like your boy name. I'm from the south so it doesn't bother me that a boy goes by his mn. Its pretty common to give a son a family name as a first name and then call him by the middle. I love what this board calls "country" names, but I don't care for Montana at all. Magnolia is nice, but I prefer Savannah Faye Marie or Georgia Faye Marie or Hadley Faye Marie. I'm really liking the combo Faye :)My DD is Shelby Kate Louise, so Shelby Faye Marie. We also like Elizabeth/Libby, Josephine/Josie, and Raelynn.
I cannot tell you how in love I ma with the suggestion of Magnolia (nn Maggie). Its fantastic, natural, unique yet memorable.... Sounds great with Faye Marie.
I also love Delilah Faye Marie.

Yes ladies I do believe we have all came to the conclusion montana is not the best fit as I said before I am not set on montana but am set on fay marie. I love magnolia. and the only reason maree would be spelled that way is because DH grandma and mom is spelled that way, I also prefer marie.
I knew a Montana, it worked for her. It's definitely NMS but I don't think it's awful.
I don't understand why you would name your son Silas if you have zero intentions of calling him Silas. Why don't you just name him Chandler? Not that I love either but I don't like planning to use a MN as a FN.
Re: I know its early but so far this is what I have
Silas Chandler James is nice. I like it.

Good luck choosing.

This. Montana is a terrible name. I LOVE the suggestion of Magnolia. And spell it Marie, NOT Maree.
Magnolia is BEAUTIFUL! You could call her Maggie...

I like Silas and James, but I'm not crazy about Montana.
Montana is Spanish for "mountain," which is how the state got its name. Just seems odd to name a girl "mountain." How about Savannah instead?
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
Montana is bad.
Silas Chandler James is great!
I say keep looking on the girl name.
I kind of like Montana, but if you're looking for a cute country name I LOVE Gentry for a girl....
I also think Silas is wonderful and you should come right out and use it instead of the middle name!!! Haha Just in case you wanted my honesty...
The boys name is awesome! A keeper!
