Stomach bug. How long contagious?

Google says a person is contagious fanywhere from 3 days to 14 days after having a stomach bug!  Really?  That long??

MIL got a stomach bug from her other grandkids (they are ALWAYS sick) on Sat.  She was sick on Monday.  Tyler has had a head cold all week and just wants to rest but Brianna will NOT leave the poor kid alone.  He was throwing up last night, my fault.  I had a moment of insanity and tried to give my sensory kid Mucinex granuals on his tongue!  WTF was I thinking!  The reaction was instantanious.

So I was going to send B to MIL's house for the day, DH said to google to be sure she can't still get sick.  Darn you google!  Now I am keeping her home and am all concerned about even going on vacation with her next week.  We fly out on Tuesday which will be 8 days after she was sick.  But she was handling all her luggage on Monday while she was sick having just came home from BIL's house for the weekend.  She doesn't use disinfectant sprays or anything that has any sort of smell (including bleach) because of allergies.  So now I can't stop thinking that we are going to get to Fl and the kids are going to be sick the next day.  It will be hell.  Having 2 kids vomiting sucks, 2 kids vomiting on vacation really sucks, having 2 kids vomiting on vacation with hightened sensory systems... Pure hell!!
