We need a new mattress for one of our guest rooms, but I've been putting it off because I didn't know what to do with the old one. Any ideas? I would give it away via Craigslist (it's clean and doesn't have bed bugs!) but I am now a little scared of CL deals.
Re: What to do with an old mattress?
this.
I do it when my husband is home. If that doesn't work, I meet them outside (garage usually) in the daytime and I let my husband know in advance and I have my cell phone on my person, as well as my handgun.....j/k....just my phone
When we got rid of our old mattress and box spring, we just put it on the curb for large trash pick-up. However, not 30 minutes after we put it out there, some one came by and picked it up. People will definitely pick-up/take used mattresses.
However, I wouldn't feel comfortable selling it unless it was almost brand new. Just put it up on Freecycle.
