Just one of those days

DS has been screaming at me for like a week now, I have no idea why.  We're in the middle of finishing renovations to our house so I'm not sure if he's just overstimulated by the hammering and commotion, or he's annoyed that our schedule has been slightly lax.  But he's been screaming nonstop and or overtired.

He screamed through our carride to story time and fussed through half of it.  Then at the end the lady is just going on and on and on about kindergarten readiness and how we have to start preparing them NOW! (storytime is lapsit for ages 6mo to 24 mo).  I just had enough and literally walked out with DS and left.

Then he screamed at me the whole way home, I didn't sleep last night, I lost my temper and yelled at him to "STOP" and then put him in his crib where he proceeded to fall asleep in minutes.

Ugh, I just need a break.  And after working on the house till 11pm or midnight every night DH is leaving for a class retreat on Friday and I'm stuck with DS screaming all weekend by myself.

Can I go to sleep and wake up and have it be monday again?  I need a do over.

To my boys:  I will love you for you Not for what you have done or what you will become I will love you for you I will give you the love The love that you never knew

Re: Just one of those days

  • I'm sorry, that sounds awful! My DS was sick all last week with high fevers, and after crying one day for 8 hours straight, he spent the next several days fussing/whining nonstop. My nerves were totally shot.

Any chance you could get someone a sitter for part of the weekend? Sounds like you could really use a mani/pedi or movie or lunch out with a friend- something fun and child-free!
