Maternity Clothes

Hello STL Mommies!

Where is the cheapest place to buy maternity clothes? I am totally alright with buying most clothing from a resale shop. What stores/resale shops have the best selection at decent prices?

Also, the one thing I don't want to buy used is maternity/nursing bras.Where can I find those in the STL area fairly priced?

Thank you!

Re: Maternity Clothes

  • I got all my nursing bras and best invention ever nursing tanks at target.

materity clothes didnt get much resale got most of it at the old navy on lemay ferry..they have a materity section and really inexpensive.

  • Once Upon a Child has some maternity. But I agree with Old Navy and Target. They are inexpensive and cute. I got nursing bras at Kangaroo Kids. They weren't cheap, but they are WAY more comfortable. For me it was worth the extra money. I got the Bravado brand.

  • Kangaroo Kids on Manchester in Kirkwood sells used maternity clothes.

I got most of my maternity clothes from a woman I found on Craigslist who sold me 25 pieces for $75. I bought a few extra things here and there from the clearance racks at Target and the target.com clearance section, and my mom found some stuff for 80% off from Kohl's.

  • Thank you for the suggestions! I wrote all of these down! I'll have to drag the hubby out for a mini shopping spree this weekend!

  • I bought maternity clothes from garage sales (look up on Craigslist and search for "maternity" in the garage sale section), Kohls, Target, Carousel Kids (Union and Reavis Barracks in South County), Once Upon a Child, and a few of the essentials from Motherhood Maternity.

I ended up buying my nursing bras at Target, but most of the clothing I ended up buying was from Target or Once Upon a Child.

  • I bought some good quality nursing bras at Kangaroo Kids... they will also fit you for them for free.  Make sure you go during your 8th month though - if you go too soon, you might be buying the wrong size.  I had great luck with buying maternity resale at the Purple Cow and also at Carousel Kids... I bought every single maternity top at those two places, and they had a bunch of cute stuff for work.
  • I also recommend Kangaroo Kids- for nursing bras and supplies, maternity clothes, nursing moms group, baby clothes & gear, etc...and their "slingaroo" nursing sling

also Craigslist, resale shops (my fav is Grace's Merry Go Round in Ofallon, MO), thrift stores, ebay, etc...

Sometimes I miss living out that way--I loved going to Grace's.  :-)

I bought most of my maternity clothes at Motherhood.  I'm plus sized so it was harder to find stuff that fit.  I usually would wait for sales/coupons before I would buy anything.
