We love Margaret, nn Maggie. DH's deceased mother's middle name is Ann and we want to honor her. For a long time I've been against Margaret Ann, but DH has loved it. I've always liked Annie for a nn, so I wanted it as a first name.
My grandmother's name is Marian and she is expected to pass away shortly. We decided Marianne is a good compromise. DH even agreed to Marianne, nn Annie as a first name, ahead of Margaret on our list.
Then a few people suggested Marianne Margaret and we realized we could flip it to Margaret Marianne. We're thinking the double name Maggie Ann would make us both happy. We're ok if she doesn't go by it 100% of the time, but for us at least she'd be Maggie Ann.
What do you think? Margaret Marianne, nn Maggie Ann?
Our last name starts with B, is 2 syllables and ends with "min" sound.
Re: Maggie Ann
I personally have a bad association with a cousin who is Margaret Ann. Because of her the name Margaret Ann (nn Maggie) instantly makes me think "my nose is stuck in the air and I am perfect."
I much prefer Marianne Margaret nn Annie.
