AW: first major milestone reached for mom!

DD is 6 months old today!!! SIX months! When did this happen? She's awesome and we're in a really good place - along with her turning 6 months old, I've reached my first major milestone - EBF (well, ok, i've introduce rice cereal and carrots two weeks ago so not COMPLETE EBF ;-) for 6 months. It hasn't always been easy, as you all know, but i'm so damn proud of the little girl and I for sticking with it and getting through the bumps in the road.

I don't know what the next 6 months will bring but, for right now, it's the small victories that count.

Yay, happy 6 month birthday!

For us, things got quite a bit easier after the 6 month mark (then again around 9 months, and then again at 1 year when I stopped pumping). I hope that gives you some light at the end of the tunnel!

Congrats on surviving, Mama! The next 6 months is when the real fun starts. I love the age we're at now, but 7-12 months was such an adorable age that I miss it sometimes.

Congratulations!  I tell you, whoever told me the adage "the days are long but the years are short." was right on the money.  I have no idea where time goes.  I keep on trying to remember to pause and hold it precious.

Also - FWIW - my original goal was to breastfeed for 12 months - then when I met that I ended up setting a new one of 18 months - and now I have met that and am not sure when I will be done;0  - There have been times along the way when I wanted to quit - be somehow you get through them and then there are the times when you are so glad you are still doing it - all the best to you!

Kastle, don't be too impressed. I have an amazing DH who helps out a lot, a baby that makes life fairly easy for me, and you ladies that have pulled meout of the hole more times than I can remember. You all lead by example and all the advice of not making major decisions on a bad day has gotten me through some tough corners. I never thought a grooup of people i've never met IRL could have such a great impact on me personally. WnW, I can't wait for the nnext 6 months. She's already started to snuggle in the past two weeks, which I just soak up whenever I get a chance. She's so much fun and changes so fast now that I can't wait to see what new thing she's learned every day.

Aww, mcatmay, you are doing great! 6 months breastfeeding is awesome! You'll get to a year before you know it.

Congrats!  Sorry I'm so late chiming in, but I'm so glad to hear everything is working out so well. I agree with PPs - I really, really loved the 7/8 month age and it just keeps getting better and more fun   Everything just started to get so much more rewarding and at the same time it felt like we were getting some semblance of our pre-baby life back.
