So the girls just turned one year.. yay!
They go to the pedi on Friday so obviously I'll ask then, but I just want to be prepared before hand. Did your pedi have you switch to cows milk based on 12 months adjust or actual? We were born at 32w.
I ask because I've got one DD that was allergic to dairy. We've been informally challenging every now and then, but at 11 months we did a dairy challenge and she passed! So I've been slowly transitioning her off Nutramigen and onto her sisters generic regular formula and she's done great. She's also eating cheese and yogurt fine so we're pretty sure she's good. But I'm wondering if I'm creating more trouble for myself my transitioning her to this to immediately transition her to WCM? I was thinking we'd do formula until 14 months actual because of the dairy issue and because other DD had some intestional surgery at birth and I didn't want to challenge her system to early yet either, but now I'm leaning towards the fact that I'm probably being too mother hen-ish and should just make the jump?
Re: WCM based off of adjusted or actual?
Thanks ladies! I feel like right now people are starting to "forget" their preemie status so I want to make sure I continue to stay diligent to keep them healthy.
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)
We made the switch to WCM at 1 year actual....which seems to be a different rec then most peeps on this board. DD was born at 34 weeks, no dairy allergy and was on regular formula - not fortified. She had no problems with the switch. She continued to drink the same amount if not more of the WCM.
That aside - it sounds like you're wary of making the switch for vary valid reasons!!!
