Any ideas why DS' Goodnights are leaking?

The first few weeks that DS wore Goodnights (overnight pull-ups) to bed we had no problems at all even though he's always (every night) a heavy wetter.  All of a sudden, he's having trouble every night with them leaking out the side around his hip (so the pee is running up into the non-absorbent elasticy part which then leaks) even when they're not fully soaked in the absorbent part. 

What did I suddenly start doing wrong?  I don't feel like I'm doing anything differently, and it's definitely not that he needs to go up a size b/c they're plenty big (but not loose).  I don't think he's peeing more than he was either.  It just feels like he's running outside of the absorbent part.  Any ideas?

    Does he move around a lot at night?  Maybe they are getting twisted.

    Is his penis pointing down? Does he move alot and it might get moved around and thus peeing out the 'wrong' direction for the pullup to contain it.

    My DS is only 17 months so I don't have pull up expereince with a boy (just DD) but when Ds's penis doesn't get pointed down in his diaper, the diaper will leak top or side.

    just a thought. again, not sure because mine is still so young.
