building in downtown austin under lockdown?

One of my NB FB friends just posted that a building in downtown Austin was in lockdown, SWAT showed up...anyone know more? Hope all our downtown nesties are safe!

WTF is wrong with people today? A guy in our building brought a gun to "show off how cool it was" and police had to come.

People be crazy.

I hope the downtown sitch was just as stupid and harmless.

Yeah, apparently a guy had a gun on the 6th floor of this building and was trying to get on to a secured floor.

Wait, are we sure you're not talking about MY building? A guy on the 6th floor brought a gun. All our floors are secured with badges for access. Cops had to come and arrest him.

Then it is your building. But you aren't downtown! I guess my FB friend was confused. She said her mom texted her to let her know she was safe no matter what she saw on the news.

Maybe my area seems like it may as well be downtown to someone in NB. Wink

And maybe there's another crazy in a downtown building. Maybe it was just a bad day for people who work on sixth floors.

oh my gosh. that's scary. we had a guy once throw a chair into a window when he got laid off. i was scared for weeks that he'd come back with a gun. i had my escape plan all laid out and kept telling myself that since i was friendly with the guy he wouldn't shoot me if he did come. of course he never came back, but i was freaked!
