Anyone do spin class while pregnant?!?

I'm almost 7 weeks pregnant and am doing spin class...was wondering if anyone of you did it and did it help keep you in shape during your pregnancy?!?!

Re: Anyone do spin class while pregnant?!?

  • I'm almost at 12 weeks, and I LOVE my weekly spin class.  It's really helped me keep my weight in check during the first tri.  I'm planning to continue for as long as I'm comfortable.

Just remember to keep your own pace - your sprints might not be as fast, and your jumping may tire you out more than normal.  I usually just sit in the back and do my own thing.  I feel great!

  • Yep, I still go twice a week. At this point it is actually one of the more comfortable things for me to do...running has been out for a while now. I have had to readjust my bike as I have progressed to accommodate my belly and to help with back pain, but that is not a big deal.

  • Yep, I'm 32 weeks and I spin once a week in addition to a bunch of other stuff.

It helps me stay in shape.  I modify these days a little, but I still keep up well.

  • I did!  I did spin 2-3 times a week up until the day I delivered.  It was a great workout.  I did have to modify as I got further along.  Definitely stick with it as long as you can!

  • I continued with spin class until 33 weeks pregnant and only stopped because I couldn't find a comfy position on the bike.
  • I'm 27 weeks now and have been doing twice weekly spin classes all along. I love it, just have to modify slightly. since I've been growing some things are not as comfortable, but I love my class!

  • Yes!!! I am currently 18 weeks preggo and have been not only teaching a spin class every week but I also teach 4 other cardio classes a week as well! It keeps me energized and staying in shape since before I found out, I was constantly at the gym working out 2-3 hrs daily. I've definitely slowed down and only teach one class a day Mon.-Thurs. but I love being able to go and work out still! Two other instructors that also teach at the same gym while pregnant either taught fitness classes right up till they had their baby and the other spin instructor actually taught spin till about 8 months pregnant and that's when she started to teach off the bike for the more part. But is definitely a great way to get your cardio and staying in shape without having to put a ton of pressure on you legs and joints the entire time!
