regular mucinex/claritin while BF?

The pedi's triage nurses said they were okay but that they might dry up my milk supply.  I'm going to die a slow and painful death if I don't do SOMEthing about my coughing though, so DH bought me some last night but I'm afraid to take it.  DD2 has been nursing every hour at night (fun!) and the thought of not having enough milk for her freaks me out right now, esp since we're trying to establish our overall supply anyway.

So has anyone taken either of these while BF and did you notice any tank in your supply?

I took zyrtec while I was nursing, but Kate's pedi made me wait until she was 3 months old I think.  I would just up your water and watch your output.  If it's dropping maybe take a day off of the meds?  Plain mucinex without the D is fine and doesn't affect your supply.

I was told that regular Mucinex (NOT D) is fine to take and I did so without a noticeable effect on my milk supply.
