I know a very spunky little girl named Hazel. I think it is one of those "old lady" names that is adorable on small children. A nice botanical name without being Rose or Violet.
This is a name I just can't decide whether I like or not. I like that it is classic and not very common. I guess I just couldn't see myself using the name.
Re: thoughts on Hazel
I really like it! I'm not sure I would go with it for my daughter as a first name, maybe a mn. It's definitely classy and not overused.
But, this name will be forever out for us since our cat's name is Hazel

Yes, definitely out since it's your cats name! haha. I do love it as a middle name.
Not a big fan. Sounds kind of nerdy, or old, or I hear Hazey like.. baked. Or I think of coffee.
NMS, sorry.
What would I do? Be thrilled my husband finally sees things my way about these alleged "old lady" names.
I think Hazel is adorable. Use it!
