Any joggers, avid exercisers going through IVF?.. I read on my handout : 6 weeks after embryo transfer "light exercise, heart rate <130" . Prior to and during Stimming, light walking, no yoga, no jogging .
I'm about to go out of my mind. The weather has been beautiful in Seattle, and I just want to get out and jog. I need that good jog for "mental wellness"... I tried walking yesterday, I ended up walking 6 miles, feeling depressed I couldn't jog
How do you cope? Have you found anything as a good replacement to jogging? sometype of *feel good exercise*?????

Re: Exercise and IVF..
I'm also dreading this. I am a jogger and I also go to yoga a couple of times a week. Exercise is hugely important to my mental health. My plan is to go out for my walk just like I would go out for a jog every day. I will probably listen to a lot of podcasts, and when that gets old I'll try to get my DH and friends to go with me. When things get uncomfortable, I'll stop. I figure it's only a month out of my life and there is a very good reason for slowing down!
TTC #2 since July 2010
March 2012 IVF (MDL Protocol) Started stims 3/3; ER 3/11 (9R, 8M, 7F) ET 3/16 (5dt of 2 blasts graded 3AB and 3BA, 3 frosties(!!) Beta 3/26 = 386; Beta 3/28 = 827; u/s 4/11 says TWINS! Boy/Girl Twins delivered at 36 weeks 6 days
I kept running right up until starting stims with IVF. Once you start stims, you will not want to run. Trust me. I barely wanted to walk.
I've been struggling with this though. I really cut back on running once IVF started, and never really got back into it through our FET. I was finally feeling normal after my last BFP, and went for a very easy jog. I started bleeding that night. I *know* that the run had nothing to do with the loss, but I can't help but wonder "what if" which has been really hard for me to come to terms with over the last few months.
I've started running again, for the mental health benefits. I talked to my RE and she told me it was fine to run until we got close to our next transfer. I plan to keep running until transfer this time (although am not training for a half marathon like I was before IVF #1!), and then take it easy, probably replace running with walking. I can give up running for a few months if that's what it takes.
I'm in Seattle too, so if you ever need someone to go walk with and keep your mind off things (or vent about the fact that you aren't running), I'm happy to join you!
It's very important to take advantage of that sunshine while we have it!!

This is very true!
This TTC journey hasn't bought me to IVF just yet, but I did have to go through stimming about twelve years ago when I donated eggs. It was quite uncomfortable; walking made it feel like my huge ovaries were swishing around in my midsection.
Beat stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma May 2011, YEAH!!!
BFP 3/30/12, with fingers and toes all crossed.
AMA (37) + GD = HR, grr.
EDD 12.12.12
I did walking, ate dark chocolate, read light fiction, and used deliberate relaxation/meditation.
Not to be pessimistic, but you might not feel all that bad during stims if you get in the 8-10 follicle range.
