Bio Oil Versus Palmers Coco Butter?

I know there was a dicussion a few days ago about strech mark creams.  However most people only mentioned Palmers Coco Butter.  Just wondering if anyone uses Bio Oil?  And if one is supposed to be better than the other?  I know about the whole hereditary issue, but I figured I'd at least do what I can to try to prevent them.

In the winter I generally put baby oil on when I get out of the shower (before I dry off).  Usually only a few times a week.  Over a year ago I got the Palmers Skin Therapy oil, but I didn't like how it smelled (it made me smell like a cake).  So I only used it a few times.

I'm only 15 weeks, but about 4 weeks ago DH pointed out stretch marks on my upper legs, just under my butt.  They are NEW!  I'm guessing they are mostly from the IVF weight I gained (30 lbs).  But after he pointed them out I started using my Palmers Skin Therapy oil again, but really only on and off (maybe 2-3 times a week).

Just last week I got some Bio Oil, becuse according to thier advertisements its better than coco butter.  A 4.2 oz container cost almost $20 at Walmart.  I've been using it twice per day, and it's almost gone.  It only lasted a week!  Holy cow!  I've gone on Amazon and found it for $13 for the same size, so I might just order a bunch from there and stock up.

I've also read on other sites some people put on the bio oil first, then after it dried put on the coco butter.  Not sure if that is over kill!

My acu said any pure cocoa, olive oil, or shea butter lotion will work the same. I use the olive oil body butter from The Body Shoppe because it smells nice without being too overpowering (it's one of their "gender neutral" scents). It's very thick and melts into your skin after a shower. It's definitely moisturizing enough to only use once a day, but if I feel dry or itchy, I use more on my tummy/boobs/thighs. I'm not going to go crazy buying expensive lotions if they all work the same and none can really prevent the stretch marks (keeping within the guildelines of how much you should gain helps too), and I really don't want to smell like cocoabutter for the next 6 months.

I tried the Bio Oil but developed a reaction to something in it -- probably one of the fragrance oils.  I did like the way it went on and was still smooth in the morning.  For the first week until I started getting red hives from it.  Then, not so much.

I use raw African shea butter and it is only $4.99 and lasts at least a month- 1 1/2 months.  It seems to be working great.  You can get it at a hair care store or online.

Palmer' CoCo Butter has a massage cream that you might want to try.  I don't mind the smell of it.  I can't speak to how well it works as I have just started using it.  It is also quite afforable.

My sister suggested bio oil to me and told me to buy it at Costco because it was cheaper there. I haven't used it yet though.
