I have my 6 week pp visit next wednesday, and have been thinking about birth control options. I was on the pill when I got pregnant with Kyleigh so I am skeptical to go back to the pill. I was thinking of getting the shot..what are you guys using or thinking of using?

DH and I just had this conversation the other day since my 6 week appointment is in 2 weeks.  Since I'm not BFing, I think I'm going to go back on the pill, at least for now.  Once I'm getting a bit more sleep at night we'll chart and either avoid or use condoms during my fertile time.  I'm not a big fan of going back on the pill, but we don't want to use condoms full time and charting isn't reliable right now.  We want to TTC again in 1-2 years so I don't really want to go through getting an IUD for such a short period of time.

This, exactly. We want to try again  in a year, so I don't want another iud. Eventually we will use charting, but until my cycle starts again I guess it will be the mini pill.

Implanon(the IUD in the arm) as soon as my doctor's office calls my insurance, orders it, and calls me back in! I cannot wait! It doesn't have as many risk factors as Mirena seems to have and they just frighten me. We are not planning on trying for at least two more years. H and I hate condoms and I am really bad at taking the pill. I am so excited to get it!!!

We have such a teeny tiny chance of conceiving on our own - DH and I need to talk about whether we will worry about BC at all and just roll the dice, or if we REALLY don't even want to chance kids that close in age. If we decide to use BC, it will probably just be condoms.

We'll go back to what we did for the past seven years, which was essentially the rhythm method and condoms during my fertile periods. I've never been on the pill and I would love to keep it that way. We will probably start TTC after a year or so.

I was on bcp for over 10 years prior to getting pregnant. When I went off the pill it took a good year for my cycles to regulate so because of that reason we've decided to use the pull out method and I plan to chart my temps (like I did when ttc) so we can avoid O.
