Is that a legit name? My SIL used it for a MN for her DS. She said she didn't like the way it looked with the H so she just didn't use it. It's my impression that without the H it's not pronounced the same was as Thomas. Am I wrong here? I think it looks weird.

Re: Tomas...no H
There's an accent mark in there somewhere but Tomas is how to spell Thomas in Spanish (it's pronounced Toe-mas)
In Italian it's Tomasso (pronounced the same with the "oh" sound at the end)
So yeah, it's legit.

Yes - this.
I think little Tomas is going to have to pronounce his name for a lot of people.
For the rest of his life.
Tomas is pronounced toe-mahs auf Deutch too.
This. Tomas=Thomas in Spanish so yes, it is legit (though as PP said, the pronunciation is different).

I can NOT say this Thomas if it is spelt Tomas. I would definitely say Toe-mas EVERY time.
Even though it is a legit name, by saying it is Thomas with no H but said the same way makes it made up and butchered.
This. At least it's his MN so hopefully it won't cause him too much headache down the road.
