Auntie...totally random not SN related question

What movie was filmed in New Hope?

A few years ago DH and I took the train from New Hope (I have no idea which one, I guess the touristy one) and it took us through all the woods.  And they were describing a movie that had been filmed there.

I cannot for the life of me remember which one.

Any ideas?

  • Butting in, we used to go to New Hope as kids because my grandma grew up in New Hope/Lahaska. I remember going to a tile factory, the post office to see where my great grandmother was the first head master of the post office in New Hope and to see the house my gram grew up in. At one point she lived next door to Charles Lindburgh.  She had vivid memories of his son being kidnapped.

More SN related than you know.

LOL, I am uniquely qualified to answer this one. DS's grad project was a childrens' coloring book about the history of the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad.

The movie shot there was a serial called The Perils of Pauline. The famous scene of Pauline tied to the track of the bridge tressle was hot at the bridge just past the station. The sawmill scene was shot nearby in a now abandoned lumber mill.

thanks!!! I figured with how much you talk about your DS's love of trains that you may know.
