So I know Im a ways away from introducing the rice cereal but as a mom who EBF Im curious to know from others like me what did you mix the cereal with? BM, Water??? a little of both? Do you pump out 6 oz then mix in the cereal? Im just wanting to have a better understanding on what works best. Thanks ladies!

Re: tell me about introducing solids
We didn't do rice cereal at all. We waited on solids until 6 months, then went straight to fruits, veggies, and meat.
I also decided on baby-led weaning. It's been very fun.
The original link is dead, but I C&P an article from the AAP that explains why rice cereal is silly here:

We skipped rice cereal too. Low nutritional value and it's kinda gross, too.
The current recommendation is to wait until at least 6 months to add solids. Many people start them at 4 months, though. Honestly, nursing is so much easier then figuring out what to feed and having to make it. I don't know why people rush into solids.
If you do decide to start rice cereal, never ever put it in a bottle as it's a choking hazard. Use it in a bowl with a spoon.
I haven't heard of Baby Led Weaning before. That sounds so cool! We may have to give this a try when DS hits 6 months. Are you giving purees sometimes, too?
No purees at all. If it's something that does need a spoon (like yogurt), I put it on the spoon, but he puts it in his mouth (or not). Then I swap him for a new loaded spoon.
If you're interested, get the book (it's just called "Baby Led Weaning") - it explains it very well, and how to make it safe.
