should I switch from mini pill?

Is there a point in which I should switch to something *stronger* than the mini pill?  I'm no longer nursing overnight and we've introduced solids, so I'm nervous about the strength of mini pill + breastfeeding as birth control.  (I know BFing isn't birth control, but you know what I'm saying).  I'd really prefer not to get pregnant right now.  Thoughts??

  • Talk your Dr :)

I got pregnant on the mini-pill because my milk decreased from the stress I was under ( my grandmother passed away) and a month later we found out we were expecting again! My Dr explained that the mini pill and the drecrease in milk was enough to allow baby number two to be created! My girls are 362 days apart!! :)

Im sure its probably different for each women but if your not ready for another give your Dr a call soon :)

  • I have been thinking about the same thing and I am going to switch to Mirena. I have heard waaaayyy to many stories about getting pregnant on the mini-pill. My husband and I haven't even decided whether or not we want to have another kid at all so I really do not want to get pregnant right now.

  • I'm pretty sure the only other thing you can safely take while bfing is mirena or an iud... Obviously you are not really taking those so much as having them implanted. They are the best bc other than permanent procedures! Love your girls names! I would love to do Charlotte but I'll have to get divorced first b/c my current last name starts with Sch! Haha!
