C-sections

just a tip....maybe TMI

this may be totally obvious FTM who are having C/S - but shave or wax down there! not only to feel clean from the bleeding but also they tape gauze over the incision and have to remove that to check the scar once in a while and once they remove the staples or cover the stitches they'll retape it.

you'll also most likely not be shaving or waxing for a while after birth so it's a nice way to get a head start!

hope that helps and good luck with the babies coming!!! :)

  • I was shaved (the incision area, not the whole thing) by the nurse. It was slightly embarrassing the first time and the 2nd time I was too lazy to go get a wax. lol

  • Agreed.  I waxed before I had my unplanned c-section and I'm really glad I did.  I've never felt so disgusting as after I had my c-section -- bleeding, huge scar; I definitely felt like an almost-dead animal.  At least I was waxed though.

  • My business below the waist looked like a war zone after my c/s, what I could see with all the swelling anyway.  I doubt shaving would've helped!  And what about ingrown hairs from waxing so close to the incision...ouch.  I shaved but not enough; they go way lower than I expected so they did more so the tape wouldn't stick.  Seemed to be a routine thing, I thought nothing of it and the nurse didn't seem to either.

Not true... My nurse said " thank god you shaved!"
