...or link me to a thread where we talked about them before. Now that we all have outside babies I figure FTMs will have more of an opinion of what they do and don't like

Anyways, I never got one before and I'm thinking it would be useful now, when I'm starting to think about putting him in his crib for naps. His crib is in our bedroom right now, so we haven't needed it for night, but he will have his own room in a few months when our lease is up at our apartment.
Re: Talk to me about monitors
For video monitors, we're currently using a Summer Infant Slim and Secure. It's been okay, really helpful to see what baby is up to, especially once baby is older. We bought a Motorola monitor a couple months ago because we needed two monitors and more range. I've heard great things about them but don't have any personal experience with it yey.
Used it for #1 and it was fine. It has a great range, me/LO1 can go outside and play in the backyard while LO2 is napping.
This is not meant to be snarky, but I'm truly curious about the appeal of a thermostat on the montior? Are the different rooms in people's homes that different in temperature? I don't get it.
For us, yes temps can be different. We have baseboard heat so some rooms (depending on how big they are) the temps vary. Also If we're downstairs and shes upstairs, it's hard to judge temps because upstairs is always warmer. Also when we put the a/c in (we have window units), she won't have one in the nursery (when we move her there) so it'll be nice to see the temp in her room so I don't worry that she's getting too hot.
FWIW I never even realized that was an option until this thread. I apparently failed at monitor research lol.
