Recommended Ob and/hospital in Fort Worth?

I live close to downtown. Anyone have opinions they'd like to share on a good Ob or hospital??

  • I go to Dr Larson at Texas Health Care.  Their in the Baylor All Saints facility. She's really nice and takes the time to answer your questions.

  • My OB is Dr. Lynn Speaks, she is super nice.  Her office is located in Lake Worth off of Jacksboro Hwy.  I've been going to her since we moved here 6 years ago.  A friend of mine just had a baby with her and had nothing but great things to say about Dr. Speaks during the pregnancy.

  • 8th Street O&B - Patty Ann Hardt but and MD there is great!

  • Dr. Howell @ Harris Southwest. Have been seeing him for nearly 12 years. Love hiim and his staff.

  • I second Dr. Pattyann Hardt who delivers at Harris or Baylor downtown.  I chose Baylor!
  • Dr Noushin Firouzbakht is awesome, she delivers at Harris Methodist .

She also has her fellow associate dr Darren Tate he comes in for her whenever she is unavailable like in surgery and all., she is a good listener and would never make you feel rushed.. My fertility specialist recommended her to me during my ivf and gosh she's the best..

Good luck with the baby and welcome to fort worth :)

  • I am seeing the Midwifes in UNT, Texas Health here in Medical Center in Ft Worth. I will be delivering in that hospital also. We have seen the hospital and checked their policies about some of the practices (like no constant monitoring, being mobile during labor) during the delivery they were better than Baylor. The midwifes are very experienced, nice & personal. They also do have their own OB's they work with just in case if anything goes out of normal until and during the delivery the OB's take you right away to solve the problem, so I get the best of both worlds. I chose the midwifes so I can have the option of less intervention during the labor (has nothing to do with my insurance allowance or anything, I do have a very good insurance). I suggest you check it out and know your options if you are not having a high risk pregnancy. Good luck!
  • It depends on what you are looking for in a care provider. Are you wanting an intervention free birth or one complete with all the bells and whistles and technology?  Each woman has a different opinion on what her ideal birth experience would look like. Consider your dreams for your birth - then ask the tough questions on a hospital tour. If they aren't serving what you're hungry for, move along to the next one. When interviewing OBs and midwives, do the same thing!

    Best Wishes!

  • Dr. Robbins on 8th.  She has privileges at Baylor and Harris, has 5 kids of her own and my husband really likes her too.  She is very real!
