I decided to stay tonight. I know my dad wanted to but I think she needed me to help. I looked up some jewish prayers, washed my hands, and recited them. Then I was crazy hysterical in the hall and when I came back I heard a change in her breathing. It was peaceful and I talked her through it and told her all the people who loved her and not to be afraid. I never looked away. She brought me to this earth. I hope I helped her leave it with some peace.
When she was gone, I felt her with me, wearing white pants and young and sad and happy at the same time. Kissing me with her sometimes-gross wet kisses lol.
I am sorry I didn't comment back to each post - thank you for sharing your thoughts and prayers and stories of passing. It meant so much.
Re: My mom
May she rest in peace. I am sorry for your and your family's loss.
I held my grandfathers hand as he passed, it is a very powerful moment that you, oddly, will cherish forever.

Hugs, friend. I hope you hold on to that peace you felt, and know that she is free of pain now. You did an amazing thing for her, and don't forget that.
T&P to your family.
I'm glad you were able to be with her. So sorry for your loss.
I was alone with my grandfather during his final moments and its always been a comfort to me that I was there for him.
